MR5-1A:  Pastoral Role
in the Old Testament

Shepherding Skills & Functions in the Old Testament

This workshop will walk the participants through key Old Testament passages that are central to the pastoral idea of shepherding.  Discussions will include identification of Moses and David as shepherd leaders of Israel and will outline how God used them as well as how they failed in their leadership positions.  Contrasts will be made between God, the Good Shepherd and human shepherds who serve in His place doing His tasks.

1.  You will learn about the service of shepherds.

2.  Discuss the God's promises in light of the inadequacy of human shepherds. 

3.  Gain understanding of God as the Good Shepherd.

4.  Learn about God's people, their role as sheep, and their dependence on Him.
