MR5-1B:  Pastoral Role
in the New Testament

Shepherding Ministry & Functions in the Early Church

This workshop emphasizes the pastoral role of the shepherd leader in applying Biblical principles of knowing, feeding, leading, and protecting from the New Testament.  Discussions will include leadership functions that relate to the oversight of the church and the role of a personal ministry that develop shepherding relationships on a personal level.  Participants will have opportunity to evaluate a pastoral shepherding ministry from a macro and micro perspective.

 

Workshop Objectives

What you will learn in this workshop

1.  Learn about the decision-making, vision-casting, and administrative function of the pastoral role. 

2.  Understand that the pastoral role is based on shepherding relationships and knowing the sheep.

3.  Gain understanding of how feed, lead, and protect the sheep.

4.  Evaluate shepherding in light of both public and personal ministry focus.
