MR6-2B:  Forming Missional Leadership

Leadership Development in the Early Church

This workshop will look at the New Testament context of the Early Church and emerging leadership development for early missional movement. The workshop discussion will focus on God's activity through teaching as seen in the writings of the Apostle Paul that were specifically written to address leadership problems and the problems of the local community context.  Time will be given for guided discussion of the implications of leadership issues for teaching in the church today.

 

Workshop Objectives

What you will learn in this workshop

1.  Discuss the background of I and II Corinthians and the context of the Roman colony of Corinth and the spirit within the church in regards to leadership.

2.  Discuss the context of the leadership issues in the church from Romans, Phillippians, I & II Thessalonians, and Galatians.

3.  Gain understanding of some implications for teaching for the church today in forming missional leadership.
