God Acting through a Holistic Gospel
Relating Evangelism & Social Responsibility
This workshop will be a presentation of key topics necessary for an understanding of God's work through a holistic gospel. Participants will be given historical background in recent American movements relating to evangelism and social concern. Practical points in differences between social action and social service will be discussed. Steps to meeting social needs in the community by soliciting church participation will be discussed.
Workshop Objectives
What you will learn in this workshop
1. You will review the Biblical mandate for mission from the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
2. You will be exposed to some changes in evangelism and social concern through the 19th-20th centuries and three basic approaches today in relating evangelism and social concern.
3. Evaluate differences between social service and social action from Biblical examples.
4. Learn how to apply a holistic gospel through 4 steps to social involvement in the church.
