SMC 2a-3:  Researching Your Missional Context

Understanding Attributes and Lifestyles

This workshop is an initial introduction to understanding some necessary spiritual and religious attributes of your chosen people group.  Discussion will include religious attitudes concerning heritage, memory, worldview perspectives, and involvement levels.  Additional discussion will include how people are shaped by their environment and their psychological attributes, motivation, values, and direction.  Lifestyle characteristics and a broad overview of the activities, interests, and opinions found within cultural groups will be covered.  A insightful and engaging workshop that culminates in discussion of gospel communication. 

 

Workshop Objectives

 

What you will learn in this workshop

1.  How to research spiritual and religious attributes.

2.  Learn about ten religious attitudes, religious beliefs, and types of world perspectives. 

3.  How motivation, values, direction, lifestyle, and social adaption may affect ministry and an individuals perception of Christianity.

4.  That researching ones harvest field will be invaluable to understanding cultural settings for contextual ministry.
