Postmodern Contexts

Sociological Implications of Selfhood

A foundational overview of the emerging sociological patterns and views of self among individuals and cultural groups in North American society.  Discussions will center on the spiritual, personal, and social identity aspects of self and worldview that is prevalent in today's society.  The definition and issues regarding people group formation and influences upon social identity will be discussed. Participants will be given the opportunity to analyze their own personal social identity.
